I'm a new at this so I might be in the wrong forum.I photograph weddings and make dvd's to give to the client.I want to add music to these dvd's.I was wondering where I could buy the songs(mp3)s I need and be able burn them with the DVD software and make copies of the originals. I've heard you can buy to download to Ipod but I want to buy , save and burn later. Is this possible , Thanks

Unless the song is in the public domain you need to get explicit permission or license it from the copyright holder, when you buy a song through Itunes or on a CD you are buying the rights to listen to it, not republish it. You can't for example use tracks from a CD whether you bought it or the client gave it to you in your own project then sell the DVD to the client even if the purchased CD is included in the package .
Ironically just how professional photographers operate with their copyrights on the pictures they take at weddings :P , Sux when the shoe is on the other foot doesn't it. -
It does suck, the shoe I mean but fortunately for us we give all the photos of our weddings on a cd with unlimited rights to copy as many times as the client would like. We feel that if you pay us for the wedding that the photos are yours, especially for what a wedding photog gets these days. I personally hate the copyright garbage.
