When I began backing up my dvds, I used dvdfab to split them into two. Now, I would like to put them onto one disk. What guide will help me do this?

  2. Any guide for authoring software that will accept VOB files.

See DVD-Lab or TMPGEN DVD Author

    do you have menus?

if not then you could use DVDShrink to join them but it will have a very slight pause between the join when playing back. DVD2ONe has seamless joining also but you can use VOBEdit and join them instead

if you want menu's then it may be a little more complicated but it can be done

DVDlab might be the answer here. When you are making the menu in DVDlab you can have one movie run right into another, perfect connections. However, DVDlab's de-multiplexer and audio transcoder are p00, they will give you different length audio and video files. :P

Dont know if there is a guide but the latest ver of dvd2one will join 2 disks. Quality can be bad due to the compression though.

Why not save the hassle and run the originals through DVDShrink or DVD2One ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

I've used IFOedit for stuff like this many times. I don't get a pause then. Just rename the VOB's in order and run them thru IFOedit for new IFO's. Then burn with nero or create and ISO and use decrypter or whatever else you use.

This is of course if you don't have menues though.

Thanks for all of your help.

I'm trying the Tmpgenc DVD Author method right now. However, I have run into a problem. The first mpeg Tmpgenc DVD Author makes from cd1 is fine, but I get an audio error when I try to add the cd2. It says the audio has somehow changed. How can that be? It's the same movie only split into two disk

When I play the mpegs in Power DVD, they look and sound great. The process would be real easy if I could figure out the disk two audio problem.

As mentioned by those who know before, rip both discs to your HD using DVDShrink, no compression. Then open each disc folder using DVDShrink, re-combine them into one "re-author", adjust compression accordingly, and DONE.

    menus ?

Feed original, uncut, unadulterated DVD that you legally backed up in the first instance into a transcoder such as DVDShrink or DVD2One. A full backup retains everything - menus, audio, you name it.

    That simple.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks for the advice jimmalenko. Your right my master copy backed up just fine. Now that all legal issues are aside.

That sounds interesting Thunder In Paradise. I'll try that method also.
