Hi guys
I am converting 448kbps 5.1 ch to 224 kbps and still 5.1 channel to save space, is it still compatible ? or is it better if I go with 3 channel or something like?
thanks

Yes it's compatible, it will just sound worse. Since Dolby recommends 384 min for 5.1, I'd image 224 will sound like shit. Down-mix few channels.

hows 3.1 ? LF/RF/C/LFE? and removing two extra LS and RS.... is it good enough for 224 kbps? or du think I still have to reduce?

Well, Dolby also recommends 192 for 2.0, so, by some guessing analogy, 224 should do for 3 channels, 256 for 4 and 320 for 5.
