    Hi All
    Can any one tell me which is the best divx or xvid for backing up dvds
    which gives the best image or is there not a lot in it
    and what is the best program to use Free or to buy

    Neither format is 'better' they both have their ups and downs. quality is much more dependent on bitrate than codec.

    Gordian Knot is a good program for making these files, or autoGk if you want something simpler.
