    is there a program out where when you start to convert a file, you can close the program before its done, then open it later and continue converting exactly from where you left off?

    Yes. TMPGEnc Plus! Once you stop recording, make a note of where you want to resume. Use the Source Range function to continue. Just make sure you rename the target filename to avoid witing over your previous completed session.

    Yes,and you can also make dvd iso image and dvd compliant files with dvd2svcd.
