Hello,
I am been experimenting authoring SVCD's with this process:
Smartripper 2.41
DVD2Avi 1.77.3
TMPGENC 2.5.21 (using SVCD project wizard, 2520 bit rate)
Nero 6 for burning to CDR
When I play the on the PC (before burning) or my DVD player (after burning) , the video looks very good except when there are fast action scenes (i.e. when someone is running or the camera pans quickly ). I would describe it a jerky video. After Reading about SVCD this doesn’t seem like it should be happening. Anything I can check?
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like field orders is reversed. Try swapping the field order and re-encode.

I'm having the same problem capturing MPEG2 at about 1760 kbs with Mainconcept. It is very good quality (the best I've found) but it is jerky when the camera pans.
Answering the questions asked by Andrew & guitarman, the field is "lower field first", and "motion search pixel movement" is not selected. Should these be changed?
Thanks in advance for any help.
