Baldrick, I own a Sony HI8 analog camcorder.
You say that I may use HI8 tapes into a digital camcorder. You mean that I may load my analog tapes into a digital camcorder and load it to a PC throught the digital camcorder?
Or should I connect both camcorders, copy the analog tape into a digital one and then load into a PC?

Sony Digital8 camcorders (except the entry level models) can play back Hi8 and standard 8mm videotapes. They also convert the analog video to DV on the fly and you may use the firewire output of the camcorder to stream into your computer or other firewire device (another DV camcorder, a DVD recorder, etc.)
