I'm going to be producing a video here in a month or so that will have a certain 20's-40's flare about it. What I'm wondering is how many years is it before music becomes public domain? I think I heard one poster here say ~70 years....that sound about right?
With that said, can anybody recommend good musicians in the public domain arena?
Thanks in advance...

It is the life of the creator plus seventy years.

OMG...impossible! That means that to use music in this video, the musician would have DIED in 1934 or earlier...they barely had recording devices by then....sigh
Can't get Sinatra's stuff until like...2067!!! -
Why do you think copyright is such a controversy now? You can't even watch tv, read a newspaper, listen to the radio, watch a movie, or surf the net without hearing about it.
