  1. Sometimes some mp3s or wavs I have seem to crackle abit like an old vinyl record. I ripped one song from a bought cd of mine to my computer and the file crackles. Why?

  3. You misunderstand me. The song is not distorted, and the sound has not "peaked". It just crackles a bit.

  4. If you ripped the CD yourself, it is likely your CD-ROM drive suffers from jitter.

    Enable the "jitter correction", or "high quality" mode if the ripping software you use has one.
