  1. DVD shrink 3.2 can superbly shrink/rip most movies. But when it comes to Musical DVDs. It doesn't seem to be able to Shrink Music DVDs onto DVDR, because it's not able to fit the DVD9 onto a single 4.7GB DVDR. Is there anyway to overcome this problem and be able to shrink/rip all music DVDs. Or are there better software than DVDShrink for this purpose???

  2. Which "music dvd" are you trying to backup? Splitting the disc or downsampling are two options that I can think of, splitting being the preferable approach. What audio format(s) does the disc contain?

  3. At a quick guess there are some large audio files that will be causing the problem... Somewhere over 2 gig at another guess. You will have to drop them to shrink the disk with anything like watchable quality video.

  4. What's the best way to do Disc splitting, and with what software???
With Downsampling, do you mean customize the shrink size?? If you do mean this, then the reason I am asking is that it is not possible to customize the size using DVD Shrink 3.2. This is where I am stuck..

  5. Wait a minute, are you talking about DVD-Audio discs? If so you're kinda barking up the wrong tree. DVDshrink transcodes (i.e. shrinks) the video portion of a disc it does nothing to any of the audio portions of the disc.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

  6. No, I am talking about Music DVD Video disc that you watch on TV. With many popular Music DVD Video, DVDshrink 3.2 is not able to customize the file size to fit onto a DVDR 4.7Gb.
I can DVDDecrypter it, but it's something like 7GB. And I can't put it onto a single DVDR 4.7GB.

  7. I think Casey Comb has zeroed in on your problem:

DVDshrink transcodes (i.e. shrinks) the video portion of a disc it does nothing to any of the audio portions of the disc.
If you've got a DTS or LPCM track, you might have problems getting to the target size with DVD Shrink. Make sure you have selected only the audio tracks that you wish to keep. If you still can't get to the target size with the above method, you'll need to demux, compress, & remux the audio. Good luck!
