i need some help guys. i am very new to this so i appologize for being so ignoraant. i have a new HP computer with DVD+RW writer. i want to take my DV and turn it into DVD. i captured my DV into the computer as WMV. i then openeed WinDVD Creator on computer, opened video i wanted to use, authorized it, chose DVD(2hr) format, because the video was 1hr 20 mins long. i knew it was going to be a medium quality b/c thats what the disk stated it would be ( SONY DVD+R Disks). i then chose NTSC for format and burned. it plays on both my PS2 and dvd player that is like 4 yrs old. BUT THE QUALTY WAS NOT THERE. it was ok, but definatly not DVD or DV quality. i decided to burn another disk using the DVD(1hr format) thinking i would get better quality. the answer was no. i think it might be basically the same quality as the first disk.
thanks to all how read that much. my question is am i doing something wrong to lose quality when i go from DV to WMV to DVD using WinDVD?
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Firstly I would capture into your computer as AVI using a low compression codec such as the canopus DV codec or huffyuv.
I encode with a dedicated encoder (TMPGEnc) and I author with TMPGEnc DVD Author or IFOEdit. If in doubt, Google it. -
is the converted mpg in sync on your computer? if so try author with something else than winCRAPdvd.

ok i got it to work using TMPGEnc DVD Author. well ive moved onto another video that i did the same exact way, and i went to playback on computer and the video is fine, but the sound sounds like satin is on the viedo. ( real low with lots of bass). i tried to change the settings on tmpgenc when i converted to mpg, but i dont think it did anything. the AVI plays fine, just somewhere in the conversion it made the audio real low and bassey.
any suggestions on how i can get that sound correct?
