I'm having trouble getting good results shrinking Stargate DVDs (series 3 PAL) with DVD2One - quite a lot of background (and even foreground) pixelation on flat colours etc. in some (not all) episodes with variable. Have people had better luck with constant?
Cheers,
B

Use DVD Shrink with Deep Analysis for SG1. Just trust me on this one.

Constant is almost always a better option. Variable saves time, but results in mucho artifacto.

Constant is _supposed_ to be better for long movies (2.5+hrs) but some people (myself included) find that it produces odd colour artefacts sometimes (pink or green flashes between scenes). I always use variable now.
When I backup Deep Space Nine DVDs (3hrs each) I find both constant and variable modes give slight artefacting on flat backgrounds (walls usually) and smoky scenes, but variable has less glitches as mentioned above and is a better copy overall.
There's a thread http://www.dvd2one.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193 which explains what each mode is supposed to do, and has some reports of problems with constant mode.
