  1. I have to say first off that I've read the Epson R200 topic thoroughly and couldn't find any discussion on this topic.

Last week I replaced my original Epson cartridges with new G&G cartridges from inkdaddy.com. Now my dvd printouts (that's all I print on this printer) are too blue. Just a note but I'm not exactly sure if the problem started immediately after I replaced the cartridges. Has anyone else experienced these problems?

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer and Epson print CD, with no luck. I've messed with the color settings in the advanced printer properties but it just looked worse. Any ideas? Could it be a possiblity that this is another problem maybe created when I installed my new scanner (canoscan 3200f) recently?

  2. Odds are its the carts. With third party ink its close but no cigar so to speak.

Usualy you will need to adjust the color settings and be ready to adjust on the next batch of ink.

I have found out after working on people system over the years that you really dont save anything due to the fustration of cleaning heads and getting the colors to come out correct. I have seen people blow 1/2 of a cart trying to get it not to streak.

And thats not including having the printer damage due to bad carts with faulty ink.

  3. Have you run a nozzel check ?
Odds on one of the colours isnt printing fully. Run the check and clean the heads if it not Ok.

  4. No. He's correct. It does emphasize Cyan more than anything. You need to print out a test picture/swatches and adjust your settings accordingly.

Sometimes I have to knock down the Cyan by 10 notches using G&G's

But think of it this way, if you are doing keepsake photos, you want to use OEM carts anyways with matching paper!

If you are just doing CDs and stuff, who cares, tweak the settings.

  5. I was taking a look at some of the dvds I printed before I replaced the Epson cartridges, it seems as though towards the end of the Epson cartridges the printouts got a little more blue in them. The last dvd I printed with epson in was very blue. If I do recall correctly my black cartridge was at 8% and my blue cartridge at that time was at 20%. Could there be a color substitution going on when one ink gets too low, it uses another to compensate?

  6. That just happened to a friend of mine couple days ago when he was printing a cd label and black color was replaced by blue color. Black ink was low. After refill the black ink,all back to normal!

  8. I've been messing around with the advanced color management settings I set the color mode to Epson standard and lowered the blue to -5, now my blacks are real weak, they have an almost red tint to them. WTF?
