  1. i copied the movie "Suicide Kings" to my hard drive using MTR. i copied the entire disc. then using DVD2ONEX i did a movie only shrink to fit to a standard dvd.
i burned it using it toast and took it to a friends house to watch.

the first 80% of the movie was fine. but then it got bad. it would freeze, then continue. skips. wierd blocks would flash on the screen. and more pausing. (thats video and audio).

    any ideas why?

  4. Didn't you put a label on the DVD?
I had some problems like that in DVDs that I put a label on.
Another question, it was realy DVD+r. Some DVD Player don't read +r disks and the Mac DVD burner (that came in it) don't "use" +r(w) disks, only -r(w).

  5. a label? i wrote on it with a fine tip sharpie. not sure if thats what you mean. it was dvd+r and they burn and read fine on this computer. i have not tried it on another dvd player, so maybe it's just my friends cheap player? but the funny thing is i re ripped, re shrank it, and re burned it. this time wierd things like spanish subtitles only on some of the later chapters..
i know it soudsn wierd, so i'm assuming its her dvd player?

  6. I dont really know what to tell you, but I would use dvd-r if I was you. Thats the format that apple has been using for years, and its the better format (IMO, I dont wann start an argument). I've never had a problem with tdk, sony, maxell, fuji (made in japan) dvd-r's

  7. thanks for the tip. i wish i knew that before. i was told by most people that dvd+r's are more compatibale and usable in dvd players, so i chose +r.

i knwo theres a whole dvd war but i just one one that works in most set top dvd players.

    isn't +r more compatible?

    its the media brand

switch to something else, and you should not have those problems

    memorex
is it REAL memorex - there's counterfit media out there
even so memorex SUCKS in my mind

use Ritek or TDK and you should not have that problem [at least i dont and i did back when i used crap media in the beginning]

nope, -r is more compatable (about 90% to +r's 80%).

Again, I have found that for my setup, -r is better (especially cause I only have a -r writer), if +r worked for you, thats fine....but since it doesnt, goto -r
