  1. hi i have just recorded my 1st dvd video from my dv camcorder
i had the video as avi which i converted in to dvd format with tmpgenc 2.5 plus.
I then used tmpgenc dvd author 1.5 with the files i got, to make the menu's and to finally write the dvd.
when i play it in my dvd palyer it plays but it messes up abit it keeps freezing and starting can anyone help.
what could this be due to? how can i fix it?
    thanks

First thing I would try is different media. That's the most common cause of what you mention. (If everything else is OK.) If you still have the completed DVD files in your computer you can try playing the VOBs with WinDVD or PowerDVD or other software players that can accept VOB files to see if the DVD files are good.

  4. yeh i just tryed it in my computer and it seems to be fine. i am using a liteon sohw-812s through usb and a datawrite 8x dvd-r. does the write speed effect the dvd players reading the dvd? would it be better if i authored it with tmpgenc and wrote it with nero?
    thanks

Try SVP They do sample packs of diffrent media so you can get the best for your burner.
My personal choice is Ritek G04 Printables. Lot depends on your burner.

Whenever this happens to me, dvd player skipping, it is due to the software I am using. I normally use dvd2one to compress but with certain movies, my sony dvd player doesn't like them and skips. I either have to do movie-only, which is what I started doing, or use something like dvdshrink. I've had the skipping from movie and series disks. Good luck.

THink your problem is more player related than anything else. I watched on of my films on one the the small sit-up and beg sony's and that was a bit jerky, but my 3 players at home play perfect. Seems the me the more you pay for a player the more likly you are to have trouble. The 2 £30 players at home play everything with no trouble at all...

sometimes burning at high speed causes problems... edpecially with low quality media... try burning at X2 or even X1... but first try a different media - of higher quality - see www.nomorecoasters.com
With all due respect... and there is respect...
