Hi,
Can anyone guide me in the right direction for calculating
timecodes for vcds2.0 for entry in a XML description.
NOTE 1. I'm using UleadDVDfactory to create chapters for a VCD2.0 title
and because of Uleads search for Scene Location Frame option, it is
very accurate for setting "chapter points".
NOTE 2. I then want to use these time code chapter points in my various XML
files. why XML ? because ive templates for 9 chapters on a single menu, motion
mpeg menus and just find more possiblites for templates then what UleadDVDfactory
preset tmeplates offer. (eg. 6 chapters max. for 1 page)
Anyways, these are the scene selections i authored for a 9 chapter VCD2.0 from DVDfactory...
(please note these "entry points" are APS compliant and hit the "I" frame in gop spot on.)
chapter 1 00:00:00:00
chapter 2 00:03:27:12
chapter 3 00:11:04:08
chapter 4 00:18:15:04
chapter 5 00:25:08:14
chapter 6 00:31:49:06
chapter 7 00:35:06:15
chapter 8 00:40:04:22
chapter 9 00:45:29:20
ok then, this is how i converted the time codes for input in the XML stream---->

207.12

664.08

1095.04

1508.14

1909.06

2106.15

2404.22

2729.20

...and this is how UleadDVDfactory converted the time codes (i burnt the vcd
made a *.*bin file and used VCDXRIP to generate this XML description)

207.480000

664.320000

1095.160000

1508.560000

1909.240000

2106.600000

2404.880000

2729.800000

So, in conclusion i deduced the number preceding the decimal point is the correct
seconds timcode... but how is numeral value "after" the decimal point calculated ?
00:03:27:12
hh:mms:ff
I I
I I
I I
I I
I I
I IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I I
I I
3 minutes X 60 seconds = 180 seconds + 27 seconds = TOTAL 207 seconds
the last :ff how do i calculate ?

draven: From the way the numbers work out I assume this is encoded in PAL at 25 fps because the math works out to be
ff/25=number after decimal point
