    when i try to convert a divx or xvid movie to SVCD with tmpg plus v2.5 the disc capacity shoots up to something rediculous like 8 cds for a 2 hour movie, it will not let me adjust my framerate to decrease the size....any surgestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Check your XVID's with AVIcodec and you will probably find the sound file is MP3 or AC3 VBR. You can use Virtualdub to seperate out the sound file to WAV which TMPGEnc can use.
