I am obviously very new at this and really need some help and advice so if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

Here's what I am trying to do. I am trying to scan my personal copy of my DVD disc to a DVD disc template within a software program called Mediaface ll so that I can print the disc to a DVDR disc on my Epson R200 printer.

Here's the problem. When I scan the disc it either comes out too small of too large and will not fit into the template properly for printing. I can find nothing in my Epson manual that tells me how to correct the problem. There are obvious some sizes and settings I must use to scan the disc properly but I have no idea what they are. Can someone please help me with this problem. Thank you.
    Thank You,

tkamin thanks for the reply, I will keep trying various sizes as you suggest. I am very familiar with cdcovers.cc but am not impressed with the quality of their downloads overall and would prefer doing my own if I can ever get it to work. Thanks again for the suggestions and your time.

  4. Ok, not familiar with the program your using, but make sure that the template and the scan are at the same resolution.(id go with at least 300dpi) mismatched resolutions could account for the different sizes. Alos if its possible i would try not to save in jpg format. Its a lousy compression sceme, would would retain all your quality of your scan if you save to something like a tif.

  5. Import the jpg into Epson Print CD. In there you can stretch/shrink it to fit the disk as required.

thwiipp thank you for the reply. I am indeed scanning at 300dpi as you suggest and still the problem exists. I will change the format from jpg to tif as you suggested though. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

bugster thank you for the reply. Unfortunately your suggestion is not possible. Reason is my scanner is connected to my computer and the R200 printer is connected to my son's computer in another room. I did check the Epson Print CD software though and could find no option to stretch/shrink the image? Maybe I am missing something here?
    Thank You,

Just import and then you can move the image around and grab the corner or top/bottom markers it puts on the outline in orde to stretch or shrink the image. I know it works as I do it all the time.

If the 2 machines are networked, simply share the printer. If not, install epson print CD on the machine with the printer. Take the scanned image from one machine to the other (floppy/CD/USB memory key etc).

bugster thanks again for the reply. I will play around with your suggestions and see if I can get it to work. Will let you know a bit later if it worked as it will take me a while to do this, obviously I am not the most computer literate person in the world therefore I am very slow.

  10. Save file as a Giff or Jpeg.
Open epson print cd. GO to Import/Picture and browse to the folder where you saved the image. DONT open the folder just select it....
This will then show all files that can be imported into Epson Print Cd, Pick the one you want.
When its done this way you can resize the picture to fit the template..
    Not bothered by small problems...

  13. Scan at 300dpi. Resize your image to 12cm x 12cm and save in whichever format you intend to use. Just make sure your resolution stays 300dpi and the size stays 12x12cm, and also make sure you crop to just the edges of the disc before resizing. when you import into Print CD it should fit perfectly. I've never had it come out wrong when I resize the photo to the correct CD size first in my photo editor.

  14. I think I understand what you're trying to do. I can give you step by step instructions from what I've learned so far. I use a canon scanner and an epson 200 printer.

    1. open photoshop or paintshop pro, aquire the image through your scanner. When you aquire the image try to make it above 300 dpi but less than 600dpi. I found that the higher the dpi I used the more of a checkered pattern I recieved. Use your advanced options to reduce Moiré.

    2. take your scanned image in photoshop and change the "image size" to 1400 x 1400 and save it as a jpeg or tiff (you lose less quality with a tiff, but you get a larger file)

    3. now open Epson Print CD (this is software that should have been included with your Epson 200 install disk). First make sure you have your inner and outer diameter settings correct. For instance I use Prodisc media that allows you to print to the hub, so my inner diamete is at 22 and my outer diameter is set at 118. If you're not sure what the settings should be it'll take a few discs to get it down perfect.

    4. select "import" from the menu above and select "picture" this will open a picture browser, now locate the image you scanned and created in photoshop. select and click ok

    5. once the image is imported it will have a box around it with dots surrounding the image, use these dots to center the image perfectly and adjust so it fills the entire disc. once the image is centered select "print"

    6. after you select print a window will open in this window you can change your "printer options" select "photo" for your quality. before you select print you can adjust your "print color correction" with this option when you slide the adjustment to the plus section it darkens your print when you slide it to the negative section it lightens your print. adjust to your prefences. Personally I like my cds very colorful. click ok and it will print.

I don't know how much sense this makes but I hope it helps
