  1. Help! I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point. I captured some VHS tapes via BeyondTV (only video capture program I had on my system - any recomendations on what else to use?) using a PVR-350. For some reason, the audio is out of sync when I play it via WMP. Loading it up in Vegas gives me synced audio, but when I render it after editing, I get the audio out of sync again. I've tried rendering as separate system streams, and as video-only mpg and audio only wav files, but now luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

What codec are you using to capture?

  3. I'm just using the built in MPEG encoding from the PVR-250.

It is often problematic to capture and edit mpeg. Most will capture to avi (Free Huffy) and then edit and then convert to mpeg. The downside of this method is that avi files can be very large.

  5. Really, all I'm doing is cutting out unwanted segments from the video, and putting in a few seconds of break in between. Also, since I'm using the pvr-350, aren't I pretty much better off to capture in MPEG since I'm not doing any editing and it's a built in hardware encoder?

If you are capturing in DVD compliant mpeg, try burning directly to DVD without the editing to see if this eliminates your problem. I suspect the problem occurs when you edit, especially the adding of anything. There are some free programs that will cut mpeg without causing sync problems, but I have not used them. I always capture to avi. Most people will atest that they get better quality when they capture to avi and then convert after editing.

Try cutting the MPEG capture using TMPGEnc DVD Author or Womble MPEG-VCR.

These two programs should be able to edit without sync problems.
