  1. Hi,

i used dvd2avi to rip a DVD video out to my pc (folder VIDEO_TS). I played the vob files using videolan and it was fine. No pixels. After burning it, and playing it on a samsung DVD player, there were pixels. But, when it is played on the pc, there isn't any pixels.

Could it be my burning problem? I burned at 2x

    thanks

depends on what kind of problem is it? pixels throughout the movie? just in the end? i've had similar problems due to software... but if you're using crappy media that could also be the reason...

hmm... try higher quality media... sounds like that's your prob after all... always keep around a few 1st class media (see media forum and www.nomorecoasters.com).

This doesn't tell us what media you are using, try dvdinfopro and then check it against the list at:

I'm pretty sure that CMC -R's suck, I had some CMC +R's that burned ok, they had some weak spots towards the last 3/4 GB mark. Try burning only up to about the 3.75-4.0 GB mark and see if the pixelation goes away. It may seem like a waste of disk space but it may work. If you are using DVDShrink just use more compression to get your DVD's below that 4.0 GB mark. Don't label your dvd's either it will only exacerbate the problem.

The disc has a 1x write strategy. Should not be burned 2x.

Disc may be okay if it plays in the PC, and just a bad DVD player.
