While I realize that in the great state of florida most of you have no where to be at any certain time and road lines or "lanes" hold no meaning to you. When you are traveling in other states here is a legend that you can refer to so that you don't get flipped off, cussed at or passed on the shoulder of the road.

Now pay attention you slow driving MFers....the fast lane is the one furthest to your left. The slow lane is the one furthest to your right....if you don't know the difference hold both hands out in front of you, with your palms flat as if you were pushing on a wall but keep your hands in a fist, extend your thumbs so that they point to each other and extend the index finger on both hands...the index finger and thumb the left hand make the letter "L" ...or it makes a "7" if you are dyslexic

If you are in the fast lane then drive the ******* car. This is not your putt to the grocery store lane. When you look behind you and no one is there fine, get over when you can...but when you check your rear view mirror and the Red Chevy Tahoe that appeared so far away before is now on your back bumper get over as soon as possible. I don't give a **** if you are driving 80 mph...if someone is on your back bumper...GET THE **** OUT OF THE WAY

If you do not get out of the way, and this person goes to pass you in the slow lane then don't look over at him and say something that he can't hear. You should have gotten your dumbass out of his way to begin with. Your slow ass wouldn't be running your mouth if there was a stop light on the interstate where you would be spending a minute or 2 beside this person.

I just needed to RANT for a minute. God Damn you florida mother fuckers...get the **** out of the way. Driving 55 mph in the fast lane is very dangerous....MOVE MFER MOVE!!!!!!!!

Drove 126 miles up I-75 this weekend...ran up on 2 cars and 1 van driving 55 mph in the fast lane....ALL 3 FROM FLORIDA. If you want to drive like you are in florida, then stay there. And if you were passed by a Red Chevy Tahoe between Sidney, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio on July 1st or July 3rd...that was me... move!!!!

    Bastards.

    Gooose-fraba...GOOOOOOOOOSE-FRABAAAAAAAAA

    Alright...I'm better now

    :::::::EDIT::::::::
    On advice from Cousel (tommyknocker)
    Disclaimer:
All motorists should drive within the regulations of the law and should not exceed the posted speed limits. Willingly breaking the law is something you do at your own risk and if caught you will pay the consiquences...not Northcat.

This story is fictional, any similarities to any real life people, or real life situations is coincidental and unintended.

What's the speed limit on the Interstates these days? I still am in Europe so I can't take a spin and see for myself. Funny thing, when I was learning to drive, I thought the speed limit was the fastest you can legally go in the passing lane. Guess times have changed.

Speed limit on most interstates here in the states is 65 mph. However, if you drive 65, everyone else blows by you like you are sitting still. Speed of traffic is usually around 75-80.

    If I speed...which I do....and when I get caught....which I have and will.....I pay the fine...which I have and will again.

  5. Where I am, speed limit is 75. You can go 83 no problem by a highway patrol without worrying about a ticket. If you go over 83, you need a good radar detector and good eye sight (to see brake lights a mile or so ahead)

You know your posts can be legally used to make you pay any fines anyone else gets for speeding.

See, that's good. You speed and if you get caught speeding, you admit it. What I hate is people that speed and get caught and then throw fits.

I don't see how that is possible and I don't think it would hold up in court but I have been wrong before, so I edited the original post to add a disclaimer. And if that's not good enough...then too bad, that's as good as it gets.

It scared yoou enough to add a disclaimer. You never know. If arrested felons can sue the local constabulary for excessive use of foce while they caught committing a crime, who knows?

    Amateurs...

I have learned a VALUABLE lesson or two having moved from the states to Germany....most of them DRIVING lessons...

The three lane scenario still holds true here.
Right Lane - slow lane - VW Lupos(except the GTI)
Middle Lane - normal traffic - Golfs, TDI Passats....etc etc
Left Lane - a.k.a "The Blur Lane" is reserved for total freaking maniacs in BIG Beamers, Mercedes' and of course the Porsches. DO NOT go out there without a HUGE head start on the guy in the rear view mirror. He is going MUCH faster than you think he is. Same rules but....at speeds most Americans have ever seen before....including me..
Also NOBODY passes ANYBODY on the right.....NEVER.
One more thing....the ONLY time you see a cop on the REALLY fast Autobahns(alot DO have speed limits by the way) is if there is an accident. The cops mentality is that seeing a cop will only distract you from the task at hand.....driving.

I agree. I'm not trying to sound like I drive like a bat out of hell, I usually set my cruising altitude around 80-85 on the interstate and I stay in the left hand lane...BUT when I see someone coming up on me, I find a spot in traffic and get over for them. I will even speed up a little to try to get out of their way. To me that's common courtesy.

Sometimes I'm in a more meandering pace and I drive around 70-75 and the same rules apply.

To me, it's not people being rude...it's people not paying attention.

Me too....most of my awareness while driving is aimed at NOT dicking off the next guy....though being a MAN that goes against the grain somehow in my mind....Oh to be young and foolish again.
Like I always say....there is childish and child-like....I'm still child-like....just not when I drive.

    that's sweet.
There should be a special license for the left lane. I can drive safely at 100 mph. The danger arises with the ******* idiots who just for no reason decide to veer into the left lane doing 50 when youre coming up on them. Same when someone turns onto a road in front of you. I definately get road rage when I have to lock up the brakes.

post your most ridiculous road moments

mine- watching someone brake on an uphill freeway onramp. That made for some smooth merging

You can drive safely at 100 mph and can't avoid someone who suddenly merges into your lane doing fifty. What's wrong with this picture?
