i have tryed everything to overcome an issue about getting my standalone dvd player to play movies i burn on my computer i have a toshiba sd-1300 it gets disc error when i try to play the discs but when i play them on my standalone dvd recorder it plays them perfectly.
i have tryed a number of guides from this site but still no result my dvd burner on the computer is the LG GSA-412OB
the only other thing a can think of on getting this error is the issue of the .ifo files when burning i am currently using the steps of decrypting the dvd with dvd decrypter and then encoding them with dvd2one and then burning the movie with copytodvd but i get puzzled on the step where i have to open the .ifo files.
Instead i just copy the whole movie inthe video_ts folder that is on my computer (after the dvd2one step)and add them into the video_ts folder for the compilation dvd i am about to create not sure if this is wrong or not.
can somebody plz help me i am extremely confused and puzzled.

You didn't specify what you're burning to. Is it DVD+/-R or DVD+/-RW. If it's an RW disk, check the book type. It should be DVD R/W instead of DVD ROM. You can check this in Nero.

Almost assuredly a media issue of some sort. Some players just don't like some media.

the toshiba's that I have messed with are very finicky in what they will play and how. Have you tried to play something transcoded with another software tool.
I have only burned a dvd2one converstion (rather a transcoding to keep the lingo in check) with nero. Here is a suggestion. download dvdshrink and dvddecrypter and try to do a backup with those freeware tools and then burn at 1x (maybe media AND/OR your burn speed) and see if the toshiba will play it. Outside of that check on the left and see what others say about your toshiba. -
Older toshibas suck balls for reading burned media. Hell, a lot of them couldn't even read CDRs. I had to get a new one, that's about the only way.

thanks for the replies but the toshiba plays everything i have thrown at it everything except dvd+rw or dvd-rw as they need to be finalized first i was using phillips dvd+r(2.4x) and tdk dvd+r (4x) i do not belive there is an issue with the media or in my dvd reading dvd+r and dvd-r as i have been able to play them on my dvd.
i have used dvd decrypter along with dvd shrink but cant seem to burn the dvd's i rip with dvd decrypter as dvd shrink doenst want to recognise nero in terms of burning the files i rip from a third party program it only burns the files if i use dvd shrink by itself in copy mode.(Nero 6 Ultra Edition ).
I also took a look at using dvd-rom burning with nero using udf 1.02 for the toshiba is about a three yrs old and as i read the new dvd's read 1.05 or something and nero by default burn as this udf(1.05) but it still didnt work not sure what else to do it terms of resolving this issue.
