Oritron DVD600 VCD Hack help

Has anybody sucessfully hacked their Oriton DVD600 so that they can play VCDs? These are the instructions I have:

1. Put in a music CD
2. Press STOP
3. Press MENU
4. Press 1
5. Press INDEX
6. Press OPEN

But if I put in a music CD I cannot access the menu. Are these instructions correct and does anybody have any information on the topic. Thank you.

Region Hack (start with no disk)

MUTE (unlock all regions)
VCD Hack (music cd first)
----------------------
STOP
MENU

But if I put in a music CD I cannot access the menu. Will a secret menu appear that I can manipulate or is it all hidden and I just need to accept it with blind faith?
