I'm looking to get a digital camcorder. Price isnt an issue, but I would just be using it to **** around. Dont need to many bells and whistles but would be interested in stabilization features such as for using while in a car or boat.Any Ideas. Anyones I should stay away from?

I have been begging for a Camcorder forum here, but no luck, so far. Suggest you try the Videomaker website and check the latest buyer's guide. Also, I suggest you at least get a pass through function, as it makes your camcorder double as a time based corrector, which can save you some money down the road, should you get bit by the "bug" most of us here have succumbed to.

www.camcorderinfo.com is a great site and has tons of reviews on a whole shit load of camcorders.

I bought my Panasonic PV-DV953 after reading so many great reviews from the site and from the users on the message boards. I bought it because it was the best 3CCD camcorder for under $1500 and produces excellent video quality compared to a $2000 camcorder. Just an awesome camcorder

This forum actually started as a camcorder forums by my suggestion. Then it was made into the DV forum....bummed...would of been my claim to fame here

@Dr.Gee, I agree www.camcorderinfo.com is a good place to look, but I have found a lot of flaws in her reports. recommends one cam over the other in one report. Then in another report she'll use the bad cam as a good report to compair to and leave out the original cam altogether. Read what the people at the bottom say too, sometimes they have some good info. I am thinking about getting the JVC GRD33 reveiw. Its got a good price and works pretty good under low light
tgpo famous MAC commercial, You be the judge?
