Being that I got burned with rima and these prodiscs which have major issues, i'm back to what has been great to me for movies and that's the matrix disks from shop4tech. I saw they have a hell of a price of $67 for 100 pack and free shipping but these are 8x disks! I wrote them an email as i'm a really good customer of theirs and they said these disks are even better then the 4x disks and use AZO dye. That's supposed to be excellent so I went ahead and ordered 100. They'll be here by Next Wednesday. I'm anxious about using these because I have yet to purchase any 8x disk until the price was right and in this case the price is definitely right. Especially for 8x media. Here's the link. http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go=view_item&id=2526&cata=1&s_cata=88

AZO is only half the battle ... actually more like a fourth. Matrix media is normally some of the lowest quality stuff.

yep, no doubt. But the Matrix disks have been excellent for me and i've read alot of others who have had great success with them as well on here. That's why I bought them in the first place. I haven't sat down and watched a movie where i've seen any issues as of yet and i've burned quite a bit. Those sonic disks are another story now.

hey Deeze, let me know your result on their 8x media! I would be happy to buy some.

i'm anxiously awaiting them. I should have them by Wednesday and will update this post as soon as I try out enough of them. I'm hoping they work out as well as the 4x matrix disks i've bought in the past and just burn almost twice as fast.

As far as digital Matrix disks go, those are all garbage, your buddy got them from meritline, right? Those are basically the same as those Sonic disks, pure garbage.

I, for one, am sticking with 4X media.
First, it has become substantially cheaper since 8X has come out. Second, I just don't burn enough to worry about a few minutes. And, last and most importantly, I have read a number of reports from experts in testing media life that say burn speed is a significant factor in media longevity. Sorry you got burned with Rima, yours must be a rare exception. With a reseller rating of 9.88 they have to be one of the best.

@ chaos, where did I say anything about Rima in this post
I have no problems with Rima as it appears as though I got a defective batch of prodiscs. Almost all of them had a burn ring that occurred right after the lead-in and the data there was damaged. I told them about it and they sent me another 100 pack. I received it Tueday and didn't even know it was coming. They must of sent it quick because it came FEDEX when my original order came UPS and most of my orders come UPS.
I told them i'd send back the unburned remaining ones which I was gonna just throw out anyway and they told me not to worry about it. Excellent customer service and interestingly enough every one of the prodiscs I just got have burned perfectly. NO read errors and absolutely no burn rings whatsoever. These have different serial numbers on the upper and bottom hubs then the ones I received before. I Don't know much about prodisc but it certainly appears as though I just got a defective batch somehow. -

I have had nothing but trouble with these disks on a couple of different burners. About one out of ten coastered, but worse, a lot of disks ended up unplayable after a month storage. This was with a couple of burners and several differnt burning programs. I have been burning for a year with a variety of expensive, moderate and cheap media and this -- by far -- was the worst.

I have the impression of constantly inconsistency here.
