    text on top timeline - video underneath ..

    alpha defaults 100% so you are set .... just add a fade to the txt (click top right hand corner and adjust)

    3.hit "Edit" tab and type "hello"
    4.hit "Properties" tab text color is at 100%alpha and bg color is at 0% alpha

  4. Like BJ_M wrote, you need two video tracks. Put the BG on the bottom track, text on the top track. Also, be sure to select the text box that has a transparent BG. You don't want to use a black BG.

    If you haven't already done so.... Right click on the timeline and add a Video Track Put the Text on the top track and the video on the bottom track. By the way how did you get the screen shot of Vegas for posting????

  7. If you do Alt + Printscreen it will only capture the active window, then you can paste that into Microsoft Paint. (Just a newbie helping where he can!)

    To do a fade, on the text track, on left of track you will see a blue tab
    move the tab to the right. You will see a line over the track thats a fade
    marker. Right click it to change the way it fades.

    Trunksu;

    Timmychuck is some what right but the location is a bit foggy.... Place your cursor over the top left corner of the Text Pane (the blue triangle) and drag it to the right to the desired fade time. Also do the same with the top right corner as well. If you want to change the actual time of the overall fade in / fade out you will have to go into the Fade Edit Screen. Just click on the Fade Pane and it will appear. I use this program often for my Church & personal Videos, if you care to e-mail me presonally I would be blessed to help you.
