    Hi!
I've had my Panasonic E80 since February 2004 and I'm very happy with it. It has really revolutionized TV watching at our house--we watch much less!

I have some questions for the Panasonic E80 gurus:

    a) Is there any way of hacking/changing things so that the Panasonic E80 can do a "mute"? There is no mute button on the remote.
    b) What about closed caption? That's not an option on the remote. To use either "mute" or "cc" I have to use my Sony TVs remote control.
    c) The CM button takes you forward 1 minute. Is there any way of doing it in 30 second increments instead of 1 minute?
    d) And finally, is there any way of going back about 7 to 10 seconds at a time without using the rewind button.

    Thanks.

  2. Closed captions are controlled by your tv, not the recorder.

btw, you can use time slip to advance through or back from commericals in min increments. Thus, if you record for 20 minutes, push play & watch it & when you get to a commerical you can FF through it.
