1. I edited some video clip using adobe prem6.5 and then I burnt the file on to a vCD using nero after encoding it with adobe encoder. But before burning using NERO 6 I used trial version of TMPeg (My file is mpeg1).
The result at the time of converting using TMpeg was simply excellent and I expected the same result after burning it on to the CD.
But to my surprise I find it to be blurred and I m not at all satisfied.
We use pal in this part of the world INDIA.Can any body help me out plese.

2. Here I understood you encode with adobe encoder. After that you encode with TMPG. After that you burn with Nero. Is this correct?

Two encodes is a bad idea and will most definitely respult in a loss of quality. If you must edit your material, either output it directl to VCD compliant MPEG1 from Adobe or output it using quality settings weall and truly above VCD specs. Then when you re-encode using TMPGEnc your source will be much much better quality to begin with.
If in doubt, Google it.

Before editing, what file type is your source ? (I'm guessing MPEG)

What are its specs (video and audio bitrate, frame size etc)

What is your intended output ? (I'm guessing VCD)

We'll be chasing our tails for days without this info.
If in doubt, Google it.

OK. Now we're getting somewhere.

Source is already VCD compliant, but we want to do a bit of editing, then save as VCD compliant MPEG, then burn, right ?

If this is the case, then I'm gonna need some assistance from my fellow forum members. I do not know of any MPEG editing program that is really good - TMPGEnc can edit MPEGs in the MPEG Tools > Merge & Cut section, but is pretty limited for things like chopping out commercials, etc. It has also been known to cause some sync problems with audio.

The only editing I have done has been with AVI, for which there is a plethora of options.
If in doubt, Google it.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard.

It can cut and join MPEGs without re-encoding but, as you say, there can be audio sync issues.

Thanks friends,

Let me elaborately explain What I need and What Intend to do.

I have an 18 min VCD with out any audio. I have been entrusted with the job of adding Audio and some mninimum transition effetcts. The file is
AVESEQ01.DAT. I wanted to use Adobe Prenm 6.5. Since It does not support DAT file I used ISOBUSTER TO CONVERT. I even added another 15 seconds clip before this clip and added audio and some minimum transition effetcts, and then using ADOBE ENCODER I encoded and then written that on a VCD. the bitrate 1150.

When I tried to view the new VCD, the quality was blurred and not at all clear. I understand the quality of SVCD would be good but for the number of discs. I do not mind it.

I want to view this edited clip just like a MOVIE(talking about the resulton) any VCD.

Actually I have used CDR/W, but this cd works only with my VCD player or on any stand alone PC. I tried to play on couple of friends VCD player but it refused to play and responding as 'NO DISC'.

I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME ADVISE OR GUIDANCE ON THIS.

I THING I HAVE MADE MY REQUIREMENT VERY CLEAR. IN CASE OF ANY MORE DETAILS I SHALL CERTAINLY OBLIGE.
