Hello,
And I would like to know which program works decently... if you have you VHS player connected to your computer and you want to Capture ALL of the video on one file and then be able to use an authoring program and burn it. Thanks a bunch!
P.S I currently am using the ATI player and it will just stop at random points and not record...>_> if anyone knows the answer to that, it would be great.

That sounds like MV kicking in. Get a MV defeating device. The ATI MMC software should work fine for capturing after that. Visit Lord Smurf's site (www.digitalfaq.com) for info on how to best use MMC.Originally Posted by Phrosty

You may want to start your own thread for that problem. It would not be fair for you to start asking questions about a different problem in someone else's thread.Originally Posted by wijdbeens Originally Posted by lordsmurf Originally Posted by lordsmurf

Virtual VCR works great. Simple to use. I use HUFFYUV codec (lossless) with great results. JUST MAKE SURE that you close all programs running in background, otherwise you will have dropped frames. You can get all these progs free on this site (see "tools")

 Good luck

There are software macrovision "hacks" available for the ATI MMC. You can see a reference to them here(including download links):

I suggest you try them first to see if they work, before you invest in a hardware solution. When I had my ATI AIW 7500 the software hacks did work on my system.

...I spent 1 hr and 21 mins waiting for my movie to finish captureing ( I followed this http://www.digitalfaq.com/capture/atiavi/atiavi.htm) and when it was done I went to go see if my file was there and it wasnt! I even did a search still nothing came up. I've done it before with just the regual way of doing it and it just kept on stopping the capture at around 26 mins. Thanks so much for helping me and if I ever get this solved " me love you guys long time."
