  1. If I download a DivX or XviD file and I don't have a proper codec installed, where should I look for it? I used to just have Nimo's Codec Pack, but it caused problems. So now I'm using the "install the codec only if I need it" approach. I use AVIcodec to see what codec the video file needs and GSpot if I have something installed that should work but doesn't. doom9.org might be a site with current up-to-date codecs that I should use but I'm not sure
