Downloading Subtitles

I know there are sites on the web that allow you to download subtitles for movies. Some of those sites also have the subtitles in languages that aren't on the dvd. I have a few dvds that have no subtitles on it and since I decided to make backups of my dvds, so my daughter doesn't get her hands on them and scratch the heck out of them, i wanted to add subtitles to them. I would like to add the subtitles so when my friend, who happens to be deaf, comes over I can put those movies on and he can use the subtitles. Does anyone know of some good sites that I can download the subtitles?
