I was asking about this in a different thread, but it more belongs here.
Anyway: I want to take my .AVS script and encode the audio as .AC3, without creating any temp files.

I had a thought; can I use VirtualDub to convert the audio to a seperate .AC3 seems like all the AC3 codecs are just for reading and not creating.

There was work on a ffmpeg binary that would allow an avisynth script as the input, but from what i recall, it was video only. There was also talk at one time of allowing besweet to input from an avs sctipt, but i don't believe anything came from that.
Alternatively, what i use is a small binary called avs2wav.exe that i have set up in my shell. All i have to do is to right click on my script, then click 'avs2wav'. I then take that intermittent file, and create the ac3 stream with ffmpeg. Such a process could probably be automated from a simple batch file that could be called using an argument from the command line.
AVS2WAV can be found here: http://webjory.tripod.com/avisynth/avs2wav.htm
