  1. I went to my yahoo mail and saw they upgrade it to 100meg's for free and if you pay for even more space they give you two gig's. I read online that they did this google start there own free email. But google stop it. Google might bring it back very soon.

Google is still beta-testing their G-Mail services, they should open up later this year. although there have been some questions about the Terms of Service and privacy concerns about some of the indexing features that are built in to their service.

  3. I noticed it last night around midnight when I checked my mail. Pretty awesome of them to increase space from 6 megs to 100 megs

My yahoo account is now like 10x bigger than my crappy 10mb comcast account. the 10 mb attachment limit is also quite sweet

I've got a yahoo account, but their spam guard sucks. Every time I tell it an e-mail is spam, it gives me this while speil about how using the thing helps them protect against spam better, then it adds the sender to the spam list and supposedly will divert any future mail from them. Then the next day and I get another spam from the exact same address. It just ignores me. This has been going on for months. Luckily that's my "waste" e-mail and my real one I don't usually give out on the web.

Well I just got into gmail and I can safely say that 100 megs or not. Yahoo and Hotmail have a major freaking problem on their hands when it goes live.

You're all correct. It's a matter of mood .... I'm leaning towards BJ_M's pick if I had to pick just one

  11. http://www.fastmail.fm is a great little e-mail service with fairly reliable spam-guarding.

I've been using it for over a year now and am happy. The one downside, I suppose, is they limit your montly bandwidth. But, I've never even come close to going over my limit.

I also have a Yahoo account, but have no need whatsoever for the 100 mbs they're offering me.

  12. You get lots of ads either way.

I use Agent to get my mail. No ads. You can program it to get your mail from Yahoo I suppose. Much much faster.

Kinda hard to explain honestly. I've had people say they will only use it if you can access from a local client like Eudora, but they are missing the point I think. First off like has been said before they dont WANT you to delete mail. Matter of fact in order to do so you have to move it to the trash then goto the trash select it and says "Delete forever"

Emailing back and forth looks less like an inbox full of random messages, and more like a forum thread.

The interface is really snappy and moves fast, and much like regular google the ads are none intrusive.

You'll see what I mean eventually.

Here is a good example the following image (with some stuff blurred out) is from a mailing list I'm on with some friends.

    http://www.crystalmidnight.com/example.jpg

Please keep in mind nothing truely nafarious is being talking about in those messages, I removed alot of the names and other info however.

Notice how the previous messages in that "thread" are listed above, and they are ready to go too. If I click on one BOOM the page expands with that message in it also.

Also what you cannot see is the small empty white box with a reply button under it at the end of the message. If you click that BOOM it opens almost instantly into a full edit box to write your reply.

Its really quite impressive, and I love the search function built in.
