Hi!
I'm looking for a DVD recorder with time shift functionality and have been thinking about buying either the Panasonic DMR-E55, the Panasonic DMR-E80H, DMR-E85H or the JVC DR-M10SL. Which recorder do you people recommend I should buy and where do you recommend I buy it?
I live in Sweden so it has to be able to record in PAL and I'm not sure which, if any, of the recorders above are able to do that.
Would be very thankfull for any information regarding this.
I would also like to have the possibility to easily remove comercials from recorded material.
I have a projector so I would like the recorder to have progressive scan as I will use it also for watching DVDs.

The JVC is getting lots of praise right now - have a look at this thread and check out some of the screen grabs I posted on page 5:

BTW, there is a PAL version of the JVC available in Europe. The JVC is progressive scan. I think it plays NTSC discs, too. -
Just remember that you don't need a hard disk to time-shift. The Panasonic recorders with DVD-RAM and DVD-R work nicely for that, provided you're not planning to record many many hours before you get a chance to view it. If that's the case then you definitely want one with a HD.

We used to have a big dvd recorder topic on left column, but I think that its now under dvd writers or players.
