I have been searching for MONTHS to find ways to author SVCD's on a Macintosh without having to go to Virtual PC. I have exhausted every possible resource that I can think of. Is there anyone who knows of any SVCD authoring tool for MAC ?

    http://www.videocd2.com -->> Doesn't exist
NeroMax for Mac -->> Supports 1 CD burner.

    HELP !

  2. yes, it does exist, but it runs on MacOSX only. Then burn the result with Toast Titanium.

  4. i know, jesper.. it was actually me who asked master hvr to add Toast support to VCDImager and also delphi.stuff to add the Toast option to his windows GUI to VCDImager

Your GUI is fantastic, it's simply an awesome benefit for mac users.
Any plans to add support for more VCDImager options, like in VCDImagerEasy?

  5. Yo major!
Yes the vcdtoolsX is still under heavy development. More features and options will be added. But now im working on a XML-creator for it so you dont have to re-rip the mpeg file or creat a new XML. But im new to the cocoa AppKit so its kindo hard. BUT not to hard.

  6. Jesper, the most important tool is still missing. A muxing encoder to handle the packet size to 2324 and add the "user data" blocks. This is being done by TMPGE or bbMPEG on the pc (a slow process on VPC). I have tried the command line mjpegtools as disscribed on Paul Hagstrom's site, but could not get it to work. Try your hand at a GUI for this port. I admire your work, and hope you continue

  7. My work is to make it easy for non hackers to handle vcd/svcd. I cant seam how I coul make it easy for someone to install and compile (as you know you dont have to own DevKit to use vcdtoolsX) fink, mjpegtools and alot more tools.

When someone makes a port of bbMPEG ill shure will make a gui if its neaded.

How do you encode the MPEG2 file to put into vcdtoolsX?
I think Jesper has done a great job with the GUI, but the page on his website which was supposed to contain info on how to make a SVCD is still "under construction"

I hope it will be up soon

  9. Ok I got a mail from a guy that wanted to help me out with the SVCD Tutorial. But he never returned with any material. So I guess I have to write it myself. SIGH!

The tutorial will NOT explain how to author SVCD mpeg2 files. It will ONLY explain how two burn SVCD tracks.

I have not been able to author my own SVCD tracks on my mac. But there is one foolproof way. But you have to use Bash and some linux tools to do this. The super cool guy Paul Hagstrom have an webpage about this:
    http://www.bu.edu/linguistics/UG/hagstrom/vcd.html

Thats all for me. For all of you who waiting for the Tutorial; I have to burn som SVCDs first so it will be up sometime on Thuesday.

  10. Ok the new version of vcdtoolsX is up and so is the tutorial. I beg all of you to read all the information about XML issues at http://www.vcdimager.org before you ask me related questions.
