when encoding a video (avi) which is better or more compatible with standalone dvd player for the m2v file 23.97 or 29.97.
specially if authoring with subtitles crated with srt2sup wich saay 30fps for NTSC.
or it oesnt matter???

29.97 fps will have more frames but it plays them faster.
Total playing time shouldn't change.
23.976 fps will usually playback as 29.97 fps anyway (unless something wasn't done correctly). -
If the avi is 23.976 then encode at 23.976 with 2:3 pulldown and with avi that is 29.97 encode at 29.97,they will both play at 29.97 on a dvd player so the subs will be in sync.
