(Also, who's idea was it to put "shift" right below "enter"?)

I have this Divx vid that I want to convert to DVD, and Gspot shows that it has 23.976 FPS (is that the standard FPS for a DVD? I couldn't even figure that part out. I know just enough to ask questions.). I'm using FAVC (cuz it works and I'm not toooo picky) but Dgpulldown takes for-evar on my wussy computer. Do I have to use it if I'm not converting from PAL to NTSC? Can I pleeeeeeeeease skip it? Or will it make things all wonkey?
(I'm one impatient bugger, can you tell?)
I tried to google this, and also looked all over these forums, but nothing seems to fit my question.
So, I did try to find it on my own. I just get random unrelated results.

Yes, you need to add pulldown flags. DGPulldown should not take more than 10 minutes or so on your system, and is a standard part of FAVC's process.

Hah! It took over 30 mins for the dgPulldown to run on the last file I ran through FAVC.

30 minutes isn't a long time, given that not so long ago just encoding could take 7 - 10 hours or more.

Still, I would be taking a long hard look at your system, because something is not right.

  5. Something ain't right, I have a similar PC and pulldown takes only 2 or 3 minutes on most movies. Never, EVER seen anything near a half-hour.
