  1. I am a youth soccer coach. I have a DVD set that has dribbling skills on it. I would like to be able to extract a couple moves at a time (something like 2-4 clips of about 30-60 seconds each). Then burn these onto CD-Rs to give to my players to be able to watch on their DVD players at home. This way they can watch the moves at home and practice them better.

I have a DVD ROM and a CD burner on my computer.

I am very new at this, so any help that anyone could give me as to how to start would be greatly appreciated. I am guessing that I will need some software to first extract the clips from the DVD. Then maybe some other software to put the clips together in a format that can be veiwed on a DVD player. I have Ahead Nero, and am guessing that I can burn the finally product onto the CD-Rs with that.

    Thanks in advance.

well, burning to a cd-r might not work on all dvd players. you can burn VCD, that would be most compatible. but not all players will play vcd's. take a look at some of the guides on the left hand side of this page. specifically the ones that deal with DVD to VCD. basically you will have to rip the dvd to your hard drive, and convert that to a vcd mpg file.
