Read a bit about Alcohol 120% and DAEMON Tools, and just wondering if there's any percentage in mounting an ISO image before burning? Does it help/is there any point/any drawbacks or advantages? Having a lot of problems burning, with diskspace running out, so thought this might be an answer?
Any comments invited.
Thanx to all who have helped me so far on other problems I have...

That's not what it's good for. I've had bad media that can only rip in ISO mode. Windows will not let you copy bad files, those UDF programs will! I use Damon to load it as a drive, and then use Decrypter and ISO Buster to salvage the data.

ISO is better. Thats what i always use and i never had any problems.
I also noticed alot of pleople use dvd decrypter in file mode.... i use it in ISO mode which works out better for me since i can mount it for later use.
Mounting is good because it will help you from wasting media. You know how people say to first make your backups on dvd-rw's to see if it comes out good and then burn it to dvd-r once your happy. Well, by mounting the ISO you can watch the dvd as if it was in your dvd-rom drive. No need to burn more than once, and you can see exactly how the final burn will look like ahead of time. -

I rip all my DVD's to ISO files, and mount them.
Then, I can work from this virtual DVD, just like it's the original, but much faster.
I suppose I could do it with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders as well, but the virtual drive just seems to be faster and more natural. -
Virtual driving img's are customarily used for previewing... Im a stickler for harddrive space, so I prefer to burn to blank media.

I am a big fan and constant user of Daemon Tools.
When I back up a DVD...I usually rip it using Decrypter in file mode, encode it with DVD shrink or IC7, then use IMGtools to make the ISO.
I then take that ISO and mount it in Daemon Tools and check it for structure, quality, etc. before burning it to make sure the DVD works and looks like I want it to.
I have had some DVDs that did not rip well in file mode, so I used DVD Decrytper in ISO > read mode and then mounted that ISO in Daemon Tools and ripped it in file mode from there...which is blindingly quick.
Since I also sell originally authored DVDs, I use Daemon Tools to check all DVDs before I burn them, again checking quality, structure, etc. I only burn ISO image files and I only use DVD Decrytper to burn so checking them in Daemon Tools is an easy step. -
I've been using DVD decrypter to create ISO images and then shrink to burn, you can keep them on the harddrive till your ready to back up. They play well using daemon tools and power DVD. Just like having an original in your dvd drive. works like a charm.
