I recently bought the TMPGenc DVD Author package for editing home-made DVDs. I use a Panasonic stand-alone DVD-R recorder for transcribing old VHS, home movies and laserdiscs to DVD-R.

The TMPGenc is great for editing, allowing menus and such as opposed to the text-only type menus the Panasonic offered. Also, the AC-3 plug-in allows me to record the film soundtrack as well as commentary from laserdiscs, and I can select whichever soundtrack I want on the fly when I play back the DVD-R in a player.

However, some of my laserdiscs feature some still-frame stuff in addition to the films. These may be textual essays, out-take photos, storyboards, or pages of scripts. I want to include these sections on DVD-Rs as well. So far, I have merely started the recorder while I sit there with my laserdisc remote and page through these materials at a normal speed. I would prefer to get this stuff on a DVD-R in such a way as to use them the same way I would on the laserdisc-advancing one frame at a time.

Any suggestions on how to do this, and combine it on a disc with a movie as well?
