    I followed the guide step by step (max resolution - saved to hard drive) to convert a DVD to what I thought was DivX... I can watch the end result with Windows Media Player, but it wont open in DivX player: AviParser::readinputfilter()Failed to read: 8 is the error message.

    Any ideas?

    Can you post specs of the file? And what sort of player?

    How many files have you tried?

    I have a Zensonic player that seems to struggle with XVID's with high bit ratios, the player struggles to keep up with it. I don't seem to have a problem with DivX though.

    2.4g, 4.4g, or 2.77g all are AVI. They open fine in windows media player, but not in the DivX player.
