  1. Hi,

I have borrowed from school a Sony DSR-PD150 DVCAM camera and I would like to transfer some test shots I made to my computer, using a firewire (IEEE1394 / I.link) cable. I do NOT have the drivers for the camera, e.g. I do not have the original CD-ROM, but I have done such transfers with other camera models a good number of times. Anyone know where I could get my hands on the correct driver? I installed 2 or 3 of them but to no avail. The Sony web site is a total mess so I could not find the correct driver, if even it is available for download.

Any help is greatly appreciated because if I cannot transfer to my PC I have no idea if what I filmed is good or not and what settings to change.

if you're using firewire to transfer video, you shouldnt need a driver for it. the only thing you need a driver for is your firewire card. when you plug it in to your computer, windows should automatically recognize that its a camera and ask you what program you want to use to capture video.

  3. Thanks for the tip. I checked my Firewire connectors, which are integrated with my motherboard; the ones that are on the front of the case are NOT connected to the motherboard, while the USB connectors, just beside, are. I simply switched to another connector and *tada* capture worked perfectly.

    Thanks for the help!
