    I am planning to replace my current sony dvp-s550d to something new (most like something that can play CDR, CDRW). I have two models in mind. Apex 3201 and Pioneer DV343. which one is better for the value of its money. I dont really want to spend more. $160 is ok. thanks.

    The Pioneer DV-434 is head-and-shoulders above the Apex 3201. But don't take my word for it, burn a high quality VideoCD, go down to your local electronics store and try the disc out on both players.
