In Canada thats true for the most part, sometimes you can buy singles, or they're given away in promotional things. but usuually you can only buy the album.

There typically is one small (very small) section for singles. Usually there are only like 10-15 singles though.

says brits spend £1.09 billion on albums and £97 million on singles. that's still quite a bit of cash. just struck me as odd because a single comes out, and people but it or don't. then the album comes out and you buy it or not based on the single. if you can't buy singles how do you know you'll like an album?

so do you have a singles chart? over here the top 40 gets broadcast on Radio 1 every sunday. people crowd round the radio to see who's nnumber one that week. and we have top of the pops, too - live performances and videos for people in the top 40 on bbc2.

I imagine it still is...I haven't turned on a radio in over a decade though....lol
