He made up with eddie van halen. What do y'all think?

On the road, Van Halen will perform material from their new album, “The Best of Both Worlds,” their first in six years (Gary Cherone sang on their 1998 album). Hagar hasn’t recorded with them in nine years. The two-disc album, which features three new tracks as well as live recordings, hits stores in July.

I heard about this a few weeks ago. Good news if you ask me. I always liked Hagar more. Nothing against Roth, though. I thought it was pretty ******* cool that they were touring together recently. I would have liked to see one of their shows.
-
I hated when they fired Roth
Hagar in my mind just doesn't fit in. I bet they couldn't find anyone to fill the vocals and they were hurting for money, so the brought back Hagar just for this tour. It wont last, just like before. Too bad they don't bring back Roth, as I bet their tour would do a lot better with ticket sales. -

Van Halen was big in its times, but today they wont sell anything new (probably).
Look at i.e. Metallica - same thing. Giants at their time, barely selling making any Top100 nowaday, and it will be the same with VH.
Instead of go away while they were on the top and be remembered well, they try to do 'the rolling stones' schtick LOL -

No offense friend, but you don't sound like you are much of a music fan nor do you know much about rock music in general. Not knowing who Eddie Van Halen is is definetly not something to be proud of. I personally am not a huge Van Halen fan but I have respect for the bands work especially with Roth. I suggest you listen to some of Eddie's solos and if they really don't do anything for you, then you can, along with the millions of tweener girls go back to listening to whatever pop music the top 100 offers right now. -

Not to go off topic but don't get me wrong about seniors and their abilities. I actually admire them & can't stand them when it comes to bowling..... These guys are barely able to walk w/ the a bowling ball in hand but the get to lane and end up bowling 300 !!!!! WTF !?! Amazing..... The reason for their initial breakup is well-documented: they were tired of being forced to write music to fit a marketing need, rather than write music for their own satisfaction.
It shows. They're a much better show to watch. And for that, I hope they keep touring for a long time. -
If you've seen Metallica in concert recently you know that they are anything but over.

I say its time for Van halen to hang it up, but as far as hagar or roth I definately liked Sammy way more.

I, for one, am a fan of crappy rock. If Van Halen is considered crappy.
Call it what you want, but they have been very successful.
But it makes me wonder, who do you have to piss off to be kicked out of the band ? Just Eddie ? Or Eddie and the whole hee haw gang ? And why just the lead singer's ? I know the drummer is Eddies brother, and they're gonna stick together. I think the bassist is a kiss ass. That's why he's never been fired. He's a "yes man".Coffee makes you happy.....Except when it messes you up -
Metallica not heavy? Have you even heard "St Anger" or "Frantic"?
I think not. Heavy as ever, as good as ever. Like Jason Newstead once said, yes ... they sell out .... ever time, every place. :P
I'd rather hear Van Halen than most of the shit music "alternative rock" I hear on the radio (that is, until I turn it off).
You can keep your Limp Dicks .. err Bizkits, Linkin Park (wtf is it with "kewl" spelling change ... WANKERS!), Hubastinks ... er, -stank, etc. Every song sounds the same, and the sound is boring. No vocal talents with most of those bands. Very few have any musical talent (true musical theory applied). Few can play instruments very well. If anybody should go away, it's these new 2000s wannabes trying to copy the great ones of the 80s and 90s.
Rant over. 8)

The whole band was very pissed at him at the time - not just Eddie.
He left them hanging without a lead singer during the height of VH's career..and they didn't like the way he left them without even telling them in person. They were given the news through his management.
Anyway, the guys put him down publicly a lot after that and it took them a long time before they even spoke to each other again.
Hagar was already successful as a solo act and spent time back and fourth with his own band and VH....but with him they continued on to be successful.
I don't know the story after that though...just that they got another guy in there and even had Patty Smyth fronting them for a short time, then Roth came back.
I saw a few of their earlier shows - thought they were good in the very early days...but saw them put on some awful shows as well.
Roth would often forget the lines in his songs and stop singing while the rest of the guys played - those were wild times...sometimes fun and also annoying...but unpredictable made going to see live shows more exciting back then.
My youngest brother was/is a huge fan of theirs - I liked 'em a little in the early days. -
I saw a piece about the reunion on E! News and they had some footage from a rehearsal show. They sound as good as ever.

Roth was the man. Remember those flying kung-fu kicks for chrissakes? Too bad he's a complete flake now. Although they made some good music with Sammy, I just can't get excited about another reunion with him, either.
With regards to Metallica, I quit listening once the Black (Crap) Album was released. Still love the first four albums & Garage Days Re-Revisited.If God had intended us not to masturbate he would've made our arms shorter.

I hope def leppard brings out a new album pretty soon. I like VH, Motley Crue, Def leppard and ZZ Top.

That's bordering on hair metal bands there, gitreel.
You're musical tastes are almost in the proper orbit.
