  1. Hi There..My American relatives sent a Home Video which I can play in my VCR as this is NTSC compatable.
I recently bought a DVD writer and wanted to record NTSC video on DVD.
Know the basics of Video Capturing..but how would I transfer the NTSC videotape to DVD PAL?

    Thank You for your help

    It's going to be difficult.............

    NTSC/PAL VHS question

Unless you have specific hardware, you're better off getting the relatives to capture it for you.

You don't need to , your UK DVD player will handle NTSC perfectly well.
If you can capture the tape to your HD , just create a NTSC with your file.

    ???

Yes, UK DVD players can handle NTSC perfectly well, but the problem is with capturing a NTSC source from a PAL spec video recorder/player. They end up pumping out a hybrid PAL60 format which whilst watchable on TV, is very difficult to capture.

The thread I posted will explain.

  5. Thank you all for answering so quickly..so andyp1, I capture the Video in NTSC? And then I presume convert it to PAL or just burn it in NTSC?
My Home DVD player is Multi Region and TV is All formats if that helps?
