    Hmm.

    As some of you may know I had an E50 which became very sick and was replaced with a new E55 Now I dont normally use the on-deck editing since my "keeper" disks are made by extracting from the RAM disk on my PC and then editing in womble before using dvd-lab to assemble a DVD-R.

    Now recently I've been recording shows from Sky for my better half and I to watch and then editing out the ads before we watch them. BUT in doing so I noticed that it doesn't seem possible to divide a programme on the deck any more. I can set chapters and I can partial erase but not divide.

    This isn't a huge problem as I have a RAM recorder in my PC and I have DVD MovieAlbum SE so I can divide shows in there. Just a curiosity really ?

    The manual doesn't seem to mention it anymore either, have Panasonic dropped the option from its new disk-only, (IE no HDD), models?

    Cheers

    For whatever reason, The E55 does lose the "divide title" option, but the E85H still keeps it on both HDD and RAM editing. Probably just another cost cutting compromise.

    Morning all

    @Handyguy

    Yup, emailed them but although my experience with their "repair" side of customer service was pretty positive I've heard nothing back from my email. Didn't really consider it worth the amount of time it would take navigating the call centre options to ask on the phone

    @Synergy

    Ahh, thanks I just needed a sanity-check that I wasn't missing something obvious. I can't think of any reason I desperately need to divide recordings up to keep them on a Ram disk,(I'd split them when authoring on the PC), but if I did need to I'd use MovieAlbum SE anyhoo easier to do it with a mouse.

    Incidently has anyone who is using MovieAlbum SE on RAM Disks created by an E55 erased it and found that there are now over 2 hours free, (usually 2h 07mins). Erasing on the unit doesn't seem to do this and a format will return the RAM to 2hrs again

    All times are in SP mode.

    Cheers again
