hello. i am wondering if there are any aftermarket sony camcorder light? coz i feel that the original sony video light is too expensive. are there any cheaper replacements?

Which light are you talking about and does it fit into a hot shoe. Also can you do with lighting that does not need your camera?

There is that one "intelligent" one that is like $39.99. Here it is, it's $10 cheaper, i'm thinking about getting it, don't know what it's like though.

That 3 watt light is NOT what you want to use as sort of a general purpose light. I have an IRH2 which is a combo infrared/video light and the 3 watt light, alone, doesn't add much except in a darkened room. Even then it creates one hell of a hotspot in the center, and, under normal room lighting (i.e. incandescent), I can't see any effect whatsoever.
Therefore, if what you want to accomplish is to add light to any typical indoor situation, I'd suggest going with at least the 10 watt unit (if not the 20). -
anyone got any samples pics that shows how bright is the 3w or 10w video light ?
