Seems like a good deal to me if I wanted to be the first person on my block capable of burning dual layer.

Well, to us adopters of the very newest in technology, wait a few months (or one month!) and it will be half the price. I paid $200 for my Sony DRU 700. So far it has proved to be a great drive with 8X SL media. But the NEC I'm sure is great too--and at about half the price! Anyone have money burning a hole?

The above link is out of stock, but I purchased one today that is in stock at
http://www.xpcgear.com/necdvdnd2510a.html. Price was about the same..$99 for drive and $7 for ground shipping. Looks like a nice inexpensive drive to test DL with.
