  1. I've a Nec 8X recorder and i'm using Nero 6.

I've been recording dvds for a while now and been
into some good video captures to, everything's been
    working fine up untill now.
When i put a dvd disc in it dont auto run anymore and
it seems to take forever for the light to go out on the
recorder. I bring out Nero 6, pick what i'm recording
and when i press burn it tells me-- disc full-please insert
a new disc. It started doing this 2 nights ago and i've tried
everything i know including reinstalling nero, the recorder
driver, defragment but it still says disc full.
I've 2 brands of disc i've used before but they both say the same
    error.
    thanks

  2. It's not recognizing any discs at all now, so i
think the writer has a problem, i'll need to try
it on another pc because thats the only way i
can think of to see if its broken.

That's a good idea to try it in another PC, eliminates a lot of variables with the present system. If you still get problems related to the burner itself, maybe try a cleaner disk or probably dissasembly and cleaning. Probably have little to lose at that point unless the warranty is still in affect.
